Story teller deploys to Southwest Asia
Maj. Jefferson Heiland of the 103rd Airlift Wing’s public affairs office poses for a photo with his children, Jonah Heiland, 17, and Bekah Heiland, 15, at the Bradley International Airport April 29, 2014. Family and friends see Heiland off as he embarks on his second deployment to Southwest Asia, where he will spend more than six months serving as the chief of public affairs at an undisclosed location, working to tell the story of the deployed warfighters there. Heiland will lead a team of enlisted Airmen, from both the active duty and the Air National Guard, and will also serve senior leadership as a key staff member. (Photo courtesy of Maj.
