Chief Master Sergeant PETER W. JONES

Chief Master Sergeant Peter W. Jones is currently the Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 103d Airlift Wing, Bradley Air National Guard Base, East Granby, CT. The 103d Airlift Wing is comprised of 1,200 military and civilian personnel and supports one Geographically Separated Unit, 103d Air Control Squadron. Chief Jones is the principal senior enlisted advisor to the the Wing Commander on matters affecting mission readiness through morale, quality of life, professional development, and the health and welfare of the Airlift Wing's enlisted forces. CMSgt Jones also serves as the Functional Manager to the Airlift Wing's First Sergeant Corp. Some of his duties include providing leadership to the enlisted force and addressing challenges to ensure the entire Wing is prepared to provide worldwide deployable C-130 aircrafts, aircrews, support personnel, equipment and air control for Air Expeditionary Force taskings. CMSgt Jones correspondingly monitors compliance with Air National Guard and Air Force standards including those standards governing personnel conduct, performance, appearance, and professional military education. CMSgt Jones also dedicates his time to mentoring and developing Airmen to embody the Air Force Culture. He is committed to fostering collaborative relationships to support both Federal and State missions.

CMSgt Jones is a native of central Connecticut and served for five years as an Aviation Ordnanceman in the U.S.
Navy. CMSgt Jones transferred from active duty in 1992 and joined the U.S. Navy Reserves and continued serving
in the aircraft weapons career field. Here, he held a number of titles including Team Leader and Quality Assurance
during his tenure in the Navy reserves. In 2004, Chief Jones joined the Connecticut Air National Guard as a member
of the 103d Fighter Wing as a Weapons Loader for the A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft. His extensive weapons background
earned him a position on the Lead Standardization Crew, where he trained and evaluated Weapon Loaders on
properly configuring aircraft weapons for combat missions. In 2012, CMSgt Jones was selected to serve as a First
Sergeant in the Connecticut Air National Guard. During his tenure as a First Sergeant, he was the primary enlisted
advisor to various Unit Commanders throughout the 103d Airlift Wing. Chief Jones deployed as a First Sergeant to
Southwest Asia with the 103d Air Control Squadron in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE. In his civilian
capacity, Chief Jones continues serving the Airlift Wing in the 103d Force Support Squadron as a Systems Manager.
