Colonel PATRICK (ANDY) KELLY

Col Andy Kelly serves as Commander, 103rd medical Group, Bradley Air National Guard Base, East Granby, Connecticut.  He is ultimately responsible for maintaining medical readiness for the more than 1,100 Connecticut Air National Guard members.

Col Kelly is a 2000 graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Arkansas.  He attended Acquisition Officer training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, and his first duty assignment was as a Project Engineer in the Command and Control System Program Office at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.  He has served as a Protocol Officer, managed technology demonstrations on Unmanned Aircraft Systems, served as Executive Officer above Wing level, and the Chief of Operations for CAOC-X at Langley AFB, Virginia.

In 2011, Col Kelly left the active-duty Air Force and joined the Connecticut Air National Guard as a Operations Analyst in the Strategy Division of the Air Operations Group.  As a Guardsman, he has served as a Bioenvironmental Engineer and 103rd Civil Engineer Squadron Commander before assuming command of the Medical Group October 8, 2020.

Lt Col Kelly has deployed multiple times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and in support of relief efforts following Hurricane Maria.  Most recently, he was activated to lead the Medical Planning & Response cell at Connecticut Joint Force Headquarters during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
