CTANG Remembers Pearl Harbor
Capt. Jefferson S. Heiland and Tech. Sgt. Ian P. McMahon fold an historic 48-star flag that had been raised to half staff at Bradley Air National Guard Base, East Granby, Conn., Dec. 7, 2011, in honor of the 70th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The flag, provided by David Antone of Southington (seen in the center of the photo), is said to have been flown at Hickam Field, Hawaii, during World War II. A second U.S. flag that had been raised on the main mast of the USS Arizona in October 1991 as part of a re-enlistment ceremony for then Staff Sgt.
